Software as a Service (SaaS)
Software as a Service (SaaS) is a term used to describe a rapidly growing model in software delivery.
Traditionally, companies have purchased software as a product, and then implemented the software on
their network. Today a growing number of companies are purchasing software as a vendor provided service.
The SaaS model leverages the web and eliminates the need to install software on a company’s own network.
The benefits of SaaS include:
- Accelerated deployment times: SaaS can effectively eliminate the risk and associated cost of a traditional
deployment. Our solutions are typically launched and used by end customers significantly faster than
traditional approaches.
- Elimination of hidden infrastructure and operating costs: SaaS solutions include standard operational
support making these costs known and predictable. The SaaS model has the added benefit of allowing a
customer’s IT/Development staff to focus on other strategic priorities.
- Greater flexibility and ease of use: SaaS web-based architecture allows financial institutions,
as well as the customers they service, to access software solutions at any place and at any time.
- Ease of compliance and upgrades: SaaS relieves the customer’s need to monitor regulatory
compliance and the planning/preparation needed for product upgrades. SaaS providers constantly monitor
and adjust their solution for regulatory and market changes. Web delivery ensures the exact same version
exists in every location at exactly the same time making the upgrade process uniform and unobtrusive.
